Should you move away from the city

After the first industrial revolution in Europe urbanization of the common population began on-mass, this was due to factories and the centralization of marketplaces.

For a lot of people the only way of survival was in the city, working to support a large family and education – for those who had the chance to get one.

Nowadays we are a lot more urbanized than before, with permanent housing and even suburbs that house workers, investors, bankers, teachers and engineers – people of all walks of life.

The city is a staple of the modern world, it is the centralized part of a hive, though a lot of the reasons urbanization began have disappeared.

Is the countryside a better choice

As more and more people flock to the cities to find opportunities for a job the prices of living go up, the crowding becomes an issue and infrastructure starts to struggle.

For a lot of people this is a fact that they just have to deal with, either because of financial reasons, or because they don’t give it much thought and just live the lives they are used to.

However, there is a trend of people abandoning the city and going for a more rural choice, like the current trend for Los Angeles and New York – two of the most densely populated cities in the world.

The reason is mainly financial, but if you have the opportunity to find a job elsewhere, then chances are you will – really depends on your personal circumstances.

How to make that transition

This transition is not as easy as it sounds, because, as much as we love to bash urbanization, there are certain things that we are used to – stores are close by, public transport, 24/7 retail shops and a lot more.

So if you are not ready to let go of some the things you find in a city, you might have a hard time in a more rural area.

Granted, there are still stores in less populated places, however, chances are you have drive to them rather than walk, like you would in a city setting.

The benefits of rural life is that the air is cleaner, there are less people, prices of everything are lower and the noise cannot be compared – also light pollution does not allow you to see the starts.

Rural life has many big things going for it – the freedom of being close to nature, the cleanliness of the air and the cost of living are just some of the main ones.

If you are looking to do such a transition there is a reason for it – don’t get disheartened by the chance and just go for it – you will be happier in a more natural setting.
